Hyper Red Sun Conure

The Sun Conure (Aratinga solstitialis), also known as the Sun Parakeet, is a medium-sized, vibrantly colored parrot native to northeastern South America. They are famous for their stunning plumage and outgoing personalities.

### Appearance
Sun Conures are often called "living rainbows." Adult birds are primarily bright yellow with orange-red on the face and belly. Their wings are green and blue, and their tail is olive-green with blue tips. They have a white ring around their eyes and a black beak.

### Temperament
These birds are highly social and thrive on interaction with their human flock. They are playful, affectionate, and can be very cuddly. However, they are also known for being one of the loudest conure species. Their shrill call is used to communicate in the wild and will be used at home to get your attention.

### Diet and Nutrition
In the wild, they eat fruits, seeds, and flowers. In captivity, they should be fed a high-quality pellet-based diet supplemented with fresh fruits (apple, papaya, banana) and vegetables (broccoli, carrots, leafy greens). Avoid chocolate, avocado, and excessive seeds.

### Housing and Exercise
Sun Conures need a spacious cage with plenty of toys to chew on. They are active birds and need several hours of out-of-cage time daily to fly and play. Boredom can lead to feather plucking and other behavioral issues.

### Training and Vocalization
While not the best talkers among parrots, they can learn a few words and are excellent at learning tricks. They are very smart and respond well to target training and positive reinforcement.
